On the 1st of September, the Norwegian Retailers' Environment Fund announced NOK 20 million for large-scale projects to reduce plastic pollution in countries that have major problems with plastics and limited resources to solve these issues, particularly in developing countries. The least developed countries (LDCs) were a priority. The fund received a total of 48 applications, and the quality of the applications was high.
- It's great to see the engagement and the commitment all over the world to tackle the environmental issues caused by plastics. I would like to send a big thank you to everyone who has submitted an application to us. Congratulations to those receiving good news about grants today, and to those who were unsuccessful this year, I encourage you to apply again next year, says Eirik Oland, acting CEO of the Norwegian Retailers' Environment Fund.

This is how the applications were evaluated.
